Band Concerts

Hello All,

I have been to two high school band concerts in the past week and I am not in high school nor am I a parent contrary to popular belief....

But I have to say both were very enjoyable and well done. The Grafton concert had a very enjoyable drum piece with Led Zepplin tunes which was cool. And they also had a cool Star Wars medley. But it was a little bittersweet because it was Gregory and Megan's last concert. We'll miss them.

Then at York they had a number of interesting songs including a Whitney Houston medley, an Earth Wind and Fire medley, a Motown number and a drum piece played on dishes. It was an interesting evening.

Good job to both groups!

Take care and have a good weekend,
Meg

Whatever happens, happens for a reason...

A friend of mine sent this to me in an email. And I have to say God works in mysterious ways. Have a good weekend.

Read Each One Carefully and Think About It a Second or Two

1. I love you not because of who you are, but because of who I am when I am with you..

2. No man or woman is worth your tears, and the one who is, won't make you cry.

3. Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have!

4.. A true friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart.

5. The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right beside them knowing you can't have them.

6. Never frown, even when you are sad, because you never know who is falling in love with your smile.

7. To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.

8. Don't waste your time on a man/woman, who isn't willing to waste their time on you.

9. Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one, so that when we finally meet the person, we will know how to be grateful.

10. Don't cry because it is over, smile because it happened.

11. There's always going to be people that hurt you so what you have to do is keep on trusting and just be more careful about who you trust next time around.

12. Make yourself a better person and know who you are before you try and know someone else and expect them to know you.

13. Don't try so hard, the best things come when you least expect them to.

REMEMBER: WHATEVER HAPPENS, HAPPENS FOR A REASON.

Sibling Rivalry or Just Plain Jealousy...

So I know a number of people went to see Star Wars III Wednesday night at 12:01. I am jealous I admit. It looks to be a good movie and now they know how good it is. But I confess my true jealousy lies with my brother. He went to the London opening so he got to see it a bit earlier than us Americans but he also got to watch it with.....drumroll please.....George Lucas. Yes you read that right. George Lucas the creator, the man himself, the original wookie. Ahh I think I am on the wrong side of the ocean. Oh well. I may have to go visit him. Although I doubt I'll see anyone famous. ;-)

hope your day is going well,
Meg

DVR Rocks!!

Ok so what is the saying...simple pleasures for simple minds...I acknowledge I am often amused by simple things. In this case DVR has simplified my life as far as recording. I know tv is the death of the mind but I like it darn it. But shows are often on when I am not home so I record them and watch them later. I know I have no life. I'm ok with that. ;-)

Anyway those who have Cox digital cable should look into DVR it is fun and easy. And I love rewind, fast forward, etc it makes life easier. So I am having fun with my new toy. Need something recorded let me know I'll be happy to do so.

love ya,
Meg

Karma can be a pain in the ass sometimes...

Karma in simple definition is the spiritual law of cause and effect...you reap what you sow if you will. It is also often connected to the idea of reincarnation, etc. Today I am referring to the cause and effect end of it.

We all have choices that we make in our everyday lives some are simple like am I going to let this guy into traffic or am I going to drive by and let the next person let him in? Some are more complicated like am I going to proceed in an action that I know may hurt others? It is selfish behavior to knowingly do something that will hurt others. But we have all done it.

Although had I known at the time that the consequences of my actions years ago would have the effect on my life currently I might have done things differently. Of course hind sight is 20/20. Many years ago I hurt someone more than I ever realized. I knew the hurt was there but I never quite realized how deep it ran. And I certainly did not realize that it would effect my future happiness in this relationship. I thought it was something that could be worked through and forgiveness could occur. But some things can never be forgiven. And this is one of them. I was asked not to kick myself about it because I can't change it but I have to say I will kick myself because it is my fault and I will have to live with that. And what hurts almost as much as knowing there is no future is knowing that I hurt someone I cared about that much. And for that I am truly sorry. I now have to move on with my life but I confess I don't want to. I still want to fix it. I know that I can't and that the realization will come in time. But right now I'm just not ready.

Future Techies be warned...and maybe our current Turtle...

Four Virginia Tech Students Convicted in Poker Ring

05-06-2005 8:38 AM
(Blacksburg, VA) -- Five Virginia Tech students have been found guilty of misdemeanors for running a for-profit "Texas Hold'em" poker game in a Blacksburg apartment. Four card dealers and the roommate of the accused ringleader, were each fined between 400 and 1-thousand-dollars. They were among 26 people arrested after a police sting operation. Most of the remaining defendants will be in court today. One of those convicted and fined yesterday was a foreign student who claimed he didn't realize gambling was illegal.

I hate...

If you haven't seen 10 Things I Hate About You I recommend it. It is a good movie. And this is one of my favorite quotes...

"I hate the way you talk to me.
And the way you cut your hair.
I hate the way you drive my car.
I hate it when you stare
I hate your big dumb combat boots.
And the way you read my mind.
I hate you so much it makes me sick
- it even makes me rhyme.
I hate the way you're always right.
I hate it when you lie.
I hate it when you make me laugh
- even worse when you make me cry.
I hate it that you're not around.
And the fact that you didnt call.
But mostly I hate the way I don't hate you - not even close,
not even a little bit, not any at all."
- Kat Stratford - 10 Things I Hate About You
