An Update...

It is funny I used to grumble about my friends who didn't update their blogs regularly. I understand why now, you get busy. So I'm here to update you guys....

First sports....

New England is happy right now and I'll tell you why....first the Patriots are undefeated and have set many new records...that is good. And I really attribute their success to their attitude...they are a team not a group of stars and they take it one game at a time...they assume nothing.

The second reason why New England is happy...the Red Sox are in the World Series and they got there by beating the evil Yankees. Can it get any better...well yes they could win the World Series...keep positive thoughts they are 2-0 right now.

And on the Fantasy Football front I am 6-1 right now which puts me second in our league. It is weird. If you had told me this is where I would be I would have laughed. I look forward to next week. Although a rough week for players on bye. So we'll see. I personally think it is ff karma that has gotten me this far. I have refrained from harsh smack. A lesson some people in our league may want to consider.

Now school...

Only four more biology labs....yippee!!! I can't wait. Bio lab really hasn't been as bad as I thought. It goes quickly and well it is fairly simple really. So I can't complain.

Now although I want to graduate I have enjoyed my fantasy literature class a lot and I will be sad to see it end. There are some fun people in that class. And the professor rocks. This is the second time I have had a class with her. We are now reading Ursula Le Guin's Earthsea Series. If you like fantasy literature I highly recommend it. It follows the story of a gifted wizard as he travels through Earthsea. It is a little sexist at points because women are not allowed to become wizards but it is interesting.

And graduation will be here before I know it. Or that is my hope anyway...only 53 more days to go. I can't wait.

I think that is about it for today. I may have a brief rant later but it depends on my mood. ;-)

Take care,
Meg

Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, and sometimes it rains....

One of my all time favorite movies there....Bull Durham....if you haven't seen it you should....odd that I quote a baseball movie to update you guys on my fantasy football performance. With me everything makes sense. Anyway....you'll never believe it but I am 5 and 0. Whoda thunk....I tell you what though this is why I love fantasy football....you never know what will happen til the very end. We'll see what this week brings.

Take care all,

Meg

Sometimes I wish I could control time....

No this is not some desire to turn back the clock what's done is done...and for the most part I wouldn't change things. This is a desire to advance the clock...December 18th would be nice. That is when I am officially done with CNU. And frankly it can't come soon enough. Yeah a little senioritis has set in...what can I say I am ready to be free.

To those of you who are high school seniors I still say enjoy every minute of it cause you can't go back. And these things may not seem like a big deal now but they are the last time you'll ever do (fill in the blank). So enjoy and have fun!!!

Love ya,
Meg

Who da thunk?

Well some things in life continue to surprise me...if you had told me draft night that I was going to be the only one in the Fantasy Football League with a 4 and 0 record at this point in the season I would have laughed. And yet here I am. I applaud my team for getting me where they have...but we will have to do better to continue our run. So we'll see what this week will bring.

Wish me luck,
Meg

On the Fantasy Football Front...

Ok so yet another victory was pulled off this week 125 to 103. And it came down to Monday night...Cowboys vs Redskins and Vinny pulled it out for me since Brady was on bye week. So I am now 3 and 0...I think this is a personal first for me. And I like it. :-D We'll see what this week brings. Wish me luck!

Oh and my boys are back this week so I look forward to watching the Patriots!

Take care,
Meg

And from the home front...

Hello all,

I know I know its been awhile...what can I say life has been busy...so to catch you up.

School is going well...I love my Fantasy Literature Course we just finished the Hobbit, the Lord of the Rings, the Simarillion and a few short stories by Tolkien. The Simarillion is the history of Middle Earth and a very daunting book. I would recommend it if you have a lot of time on your hands and you love The Lord of the Rings otherwise I would suggest you avoid it. Although it is interesting. My other 'class' is a bio lab...ok I know that taking a bio lab as a senior was not the best plan but hey I'm almost done and that is what is important. I lucked out with a good lab group so I can't complain too much.

Work is going well too...they are in the process of discussing the possibility of making a Communication Staff Person which would be a very good opportunity for me but right now it is in the planning stages. Something will have to happen when I graduate because no one can live on what I make for life. Or let me rephrase that no one should have to live on what I make. And if that doesn't work out I'll look into other options. Still have the idea of grad school floating around in my head from time to time so who knows. I know God will get me where I need to be when I need to be there...hopefully I won't arrive late like usual and miss it ;-).

Personally things are going well so I can't complain...good friends, good times, etc.

See you soon,
Meg

PS Have a great weekend!
