Sometimes My Friends Scare Me...

Hello All,

I have to say I love my friends from Providence...but sometimes they scare me. We went to the Keith Show (formally the Keith and Janet Show) and then to lunch. At lunch we had Greg, Gregory, Megan, Megan, Brandon, Stephen, Shirley and myself. And it was fun...crazy but fun. Although the most disturbing part about it was probably the discussion about J and Gregory getting married and the children, etc...you get the picture. Well maybe if your lucky you don't. It just made Shirley proud. But it was good to laugh. Laughter is good for the soul so they say. I think that is true.

Laugh some it is good for you.

Take care,
Megan

To everything there is a season...

A time for every purpose under heaven:
A time to be born,
and a time to die;
A time to plant,
and a time to pluck what is planted;
A time to kill,
and a time to heal;
A time to weep,
and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn,
and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stone,
and a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace,
and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to gain,
and a time to lose;
A time to keep,
and a time to throw away;
A time to tear,
and a time to sew;
A time to keep silence,
and a time to speak;
A time to love,
and a time to hate;
A time of war,
and a time of peace.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

A very wise man Solomon was...he realized that everything had a time...God's time not ours.

This scripture is often read at funerals...in many ways it is appropriate for many occasions because it discusses the cycle of life. Today I am posting it to remind myself that everything has a time and a purpose. Yesterday morning my cat of 19 years passed away, she had cancer. I know that in the grand scheme of things this isn't a huge deal....young people are dying of cancer, innocent people are dying in war, people are being persecuted, nuclear weapons exist in our world, and many more. But to me and my family it is a sad time. She lived a good life I know...but that isn't really comforting because it doesn't bring her back. With the exception of my immediate family she was in my life longer than most people. She was loved and she will be missed.

If you have pets give them some extra love tonight.

take care,
Meg

PS I promise future posts will be more cheerful...or at least I'll try.

Hmm so much too say...

Ok there are many things I could talk about today...some good...some bad but today is a good day so today's post will be good. 18 years ago today many things happened...some good, some bad, some down right amazing....but most importantly our dear friend ferto came into the world. Happy Birthday Ferto!! Hope it was good. Hey now you can do all the fun things...vote, get drafted, buy cigarettes and porn, get tried as an adult, and of course this means you are only three years away from legal gambling. (and drinking)

Live it up!!!

love ya,
Meg

Our Boy Went Out...

Our boy up in Maryland left his room and his dorm...and more importantly he left with a girl. They went bowling. This is awesome, wonderful, and very good. I hope this is not a one time incident...take those girls out...take lots of them out...have fun...they want you too. I mean really they were asking you to go everywhere last semester...return the favor. You like bowling...ask more of them to go with you...develop a harem...have fun. Did I mention have fun? You are only in college once...(unless you are like J)...and you are only there four to five years...(unless you are like me) so go a little wild. (your parents said too and so do your friends) Just remember...you get what you pay for...and if you end up in jail call us so we can laugh and make fun of you...we might even bail you out.

take care...and go wild...
Meg

So there's an exception to every rule...

Last night I went to see the opera Tristan and Isolde. A lovely work by Wagner and by lovely I mean the traditional man meets woman...woman promised to another man...both drink love potion...woman marries other man...the lovers are heartbroken and meet in secret...both die in the end to be together.

Now here is the interesting part...normally in our society if someone is going to show skin in a performance it is going to be the woman. Not so in opera...the men were the ones running around half dressed. Now I would like to point out that this wasn't that exciting because well it was a opera star. Anyway just thought this was interesting.
